You can create your new football pool here: Create Football Pool Once you create your football pool, you won't come to this main page anymore, you'll have your own web page for your pool.
Note: this is FREE for up to 5 players. So feel free to create a pool and test it out. If you don't sign up, you don't need to do anything: unused pools will be automatically deleted after a few weeks. If you only have up to 5 players, you can also continue to use it for free for the whole football season.
Having your own web page makes this site a lot easier than the other ones. You don't have to mess around with all the other garbage and clutter on the screen: your web page has just the player options they need. And it's realy easy and clear to use (e.g.: in order to make picks, click the "Make Picks" option on the menu!). So, all your options are right there on your own web page. You also get to customize your web page with comments, etc.
If you just have a straight pick-all, using all NFL games, without point spreads, and no special bonus rules, you could just use CBSSPORTS.COM, or even Yahoo.com. However, a lot of pools have special rules, and if yours is one of those, you may need a custom pool like the ones that we provide. Here are some examples of special rules that we handle (there are many more, but these are some):
- A mix of college and NFL games (game runner picks the games)
- College pool only where you get to choose which college games are in the pool
- A limited number of picks per week. E.g. each player can pick any 10 out of the 16 games
- "Confidence" pools where you assign a "confidence level" to all games, or some games
- Point spreads
- "Underdog" bonuses: bonus points for picking the underdog, or if you are the ONLY one to pick a certain underdog, or bonus points based on the difference in the spread
- "Best bet" bonus. Which is a variation of the "confidence" pool
- Survivor pools: where you pick one game a week, and you get kicked out if you miss one
- Different number of points for certain games. (E.g. 2 points for picking your home team game correctly)
- Over/under picks: you can have just one over/under pick, a few over/under picks, or every game can have an over/under pick
- Different number of points for a tie, and loss, and a win. (A tie can happen when the point spread makes the game a "push")
- Bonus points for picking the points the team will win by exactly right
The list goes on and on... If I listed all the options here it would take 3 pages... But the basic idea is, we probably support your rules. And if we don't, we can do custom programming to build in your special rules at a very reasonable price.
